Joseph Ansanelli has successfully co-founded and led two other
companies and has an extensive track record of developing innovative
solutions into successful companies. Most recently Joseph was the Vice
President of Marketing at Kana Communications, Inc. during which time
the company went public and grew from $14 to $120 million in revenues
with hundreds of Global 2000 customers.
Additionally, he has held various product management and business
development positions with companies including Netscape, Etrade, and
Macromedia. His first venture, Trio Development's Claris Organizer, was
ultimately acquired by Palm, Inc. In June 2003, Joseph testified on
Congressional Panel Entitled "Fighting Identity Theft - The Role of the
Fair Credit Reporting Act." In March 2005, Mr. Ansanelli testified on
the Congressional Panel entitled "Protecting Consumer's Data: Policy
Issues Raised by ChoicePoint."
I support a national notification requirement. But we also need to give companies protection so that if it's obvious they are trying to keep data safe and something happens anyway, they shouldn't be subject to lawsuits.
